Two coffee recipes to make your mornings even more refreshing

Drinking coffee can do much more than providing energy boost. The antioxidants present in coffee boosts memory and improves your general mental function. Several studies shows it boosts your metabolism. Here, I am sharing two of my favorite ways to drink coffee which makes it even more healthier. 1. Bullet coffee or Bulletproof Coffee Coffee is like a relationship to some. It is your morning friend, late-night brain energy booster, or the latte that you enjoy on weekends to relax and reflect on your day while sipping that hot cup of deliciousness. Bulletproof coffee is just another name of adding healthy fats to your black coffee, blending it well and drinking it. Even though it is high in fats, the idea is to utilize bulletproof coffee in a way that the fats are used as a source of energy. Most bulletproof coffees contain grass-fed butter and MCT oil. This coffee recipe is Ayurveda style and my preferred way of drinking coffee which involves adding Ghee. Ingredients (1 cup) 2 tbsp Ground coffee (Adjust according to how strong you like your coffee) 1 cup of water 1 tbsp ghee or organic coconut oil Instructions Brew coffee. Pour brewed coffee in a blender, add 1 tbsp of ghee; blend well. Serve warm. Adding ghee or coconut oil and blending it into your coffee will help to counter the dry and acidic effects of coffee, offering a blend that won’t take as big a toll on your nervous system or digestive well-being. NOTE: Although bulletproof coffee is high in fats, do not replace it with your daily breakfast. 2. Pistachio Latte This has been my go-to latte recipe off late. If you are a Starbucks fan, you would know there is a cult following for Pistachio latte. This frothy and nutty recipe will definitely change the way you drink your latte. Here's how to make this yummy latte. Ingredients (1 serving/cup) ¼ cup roasted, unsalted pistachios (shelled) Hot water 1½ cups brewed coffee 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder (optional) 1 tablespoon honey or 1 pitted date or brown sugar Splash pure vanilla extract (optional) Pinch sea salt Pinch ground cardamom (optional) Instructions Soak pistachios in hot water for at least 1 hour, then rinse and drain. Peel skins from pistachios, then transfer to a blender. Combine coffee, espresso powder, and honey or date in a saucepan; bring to a simmer over medium heat; transfer to blender with pistachios. Add vanilla, salt, and cardamom (if using) blend on high for 1 minute. Serve warm.
